User Experience (UX) refers to a person’s emotions and attitudes about using a particular product, system or service.

User Interface (UI) is the space where interactions between humans and machines occur.

In website design and development, UX and UI are critical components which will help to shape how a website is designed, developed and used. Research has shown that it matters what fonts you use, what colours you use, how the page is laid out, what your customer journey is, how many link clicks are required to access information placement and style of calls to action, the text on the website, how everything is tracked and much, much more.

All this is a long way from ‘oh, but anyone can build a website in five minutes’. Yes, it is possible to build a website very quickly, but it takes more to build a website that is both visually appealing and effective in getting conversion rates and consumers to the content they are looking for as well as adding to users’ experience when they visit a website.
