Better U Therapies is a small business run by Sarah that offers various specialist sports massage and scar tissue massage services. She is passionate about helping everyone enjoy good health whatever health issues they have faced. She asked me to create her start-up business website.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Consultation
Sarah already had her logo and some icons from previous printed graphics work, and wanted to use those assets as part of her business identity on her new website. I first created a basic overall timeline so we could work out what was a realistic time-scale for launching the site. After some brainstorming and initial meetings I was able to begin working through the design and development process with Sarah.
Development
After several rounds of information gathering, the wireframes above were produced to help visualise the basic structure of the website, and where elements might be positioned, both on desktop and mobile. I researched the best platform for the project, in this case Squarespace. I also gathered design assets, colour theme ideas and the copy needed to develop the website and began coding.
Launch & after care
Keeping to the project timeline, I customised the website in consultation at every stage with Sarah, then tested all the responsive elements and made the site live. I provided some basic training so Sarah could update the site herself with new content, and produced accompanying social media assets to be used for the launch. As part of aftercare, I produced a training video to help Sarah keep the site up-to-date herself.

Embedded booking form
Working with Sarah and an existing specialist booking system tailored to the industry that Sarah is part of, I added the ability to directly book appointments from the website.
Homepage / Landing Page
The homepage included a large header to introduce the logo and Sarah’s strapline, with a call to action visible enabling people to go directly to book an appointment without needing to find the button elsewhere. This reduced the number of clicks and scrolling required to find the booking page for returning customers, or customers who already know Sarah and the services she offers.
